Women in Computing Visit DayFriday, October 28 | 9 a.m.–5 p.m.Computing is about more than video games and entertainment. Computing professionals develop security solutions, improve medical technology, connect the world through technology, and create new solutions to make the world a better place.
Michigan Tech invites female high school students who are juniors or seniors to explore the powers of computing during our Women in Computing Visit Day. This all-day event is designed to show women how problem solving and logical thinking can be used in the fields of computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, and software engineering.
You'll get to:
  • Program a virtual reality scene
  • Build a working heart rate monitor
  • Make your own hologram
  • Use programming code to control a robot
During lunch, you’ll join current students majoring in computing to hear about their experiences and ask questions. Plus, get details on careers in computing, applying for admission, and scholarships. Family members are invited—we have events planned for them, too!
There is no cost to participate and you don’t have to be an expert to join in the fun!
